Teknofest

The Profession of Tourist Guiding was enacted on Friday, June 22, 2012, with the law numbered 28331 in the official gazette and has gained a legal status recognized by the professional law numbered 6326 in our country. Thanks to the Tourist Guiding Programs, thousands of graduates emerge from schools across Turkey every year, and qualified and skilled tourism ambassadors who will promote our country to the tourism sector are being trained. As Yeşilova İsmail Akın Vocational School, we graduate students who will represent our country at the best level thanks to the specialized field courses, advanced technical and professional English courses, and learning and reinforcement-focused application/technical trips we offer to our students within the tourist guiding program. In our institution, where our students who can fill the gap of qualified personnel needed in the highly competitive tourism sector are trained, providing education at the highest quality level is our top priority. The primary area where our students who graduate from this program will be employed is to perform guiding duties in professional chambers affiliated with TUREB (Union of Turkish Tourist Guides) under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Additionally, students who wish to continue their education at the faculty level after vocational school can transfer to four-year colleges and faculties' tourist guiding programs or equivalent fields with the DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam), provided their scores are sufficient. Furthermore, they can be employed within the Ministry of Tourism, Provincial Directorates of Culture and Tourism, Consulates, Museums, Airports, or private sector job divisions through the KPSS (Public Personnel Selection Examination).

Why Should I Become a Tourist Guide???

Tourist guides have quite advantageous situations compared to other professions:

• As a country ambassador, effectively presenting our country and its values to foreign states by making the best promotion,

• Being in a constant desire to go to new places and research,

• Having the opportunity to meet people from other nations and get to know foreign cultures,

• Being advantageous in terms of social status and quality of life compared to other professions,

• Learning multiple foreign languages thanks to the desire to learn,

• Having the opportunity to guide foreign nations in different languages,

• Not reaching job satisfaction in the profession and being able to renew oneself due to constantly seeing new places and meeting new people,

• Gaining knowledge about local flavors and cultures,

• Developing personal image,

• Having the opportunity to see the tourism cycle and operation in the field,

• Providing foreign currency inflow to our country,

• Eliminating negative criticisms of foreigners about our country,

• Living at high standards of economic prosperity,

• Having the chance to closely know high-level institutions and organizations and authorized authorities,

• Presenting our forgotten and nearly forgotten values to the interest and knowledge of domestic and foreign tourists by traveling and learning,

• Having the opportunity to know the geography they live in regionally and nationally,

• Playing an active role within professional chambers in the decisions taken by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and TUREB (Union of Turkish Tourist Guides),

• Performing the profession fairly and in accordance with official standards and sincerely fulfilling the duties of promotion activities at a high level,

• Since the job requires extreme discipline and punctuality, establishing a certain standard of living in life and developing leadership qualities,

• Tour organization becomes almost a part of life and learning to make quick decisions, be responsible, and cope with difficulties,

• Constantly developing themselves and keeping up-to-date due to the nature of their work, moving away from a monotonous lifestyle, and learning to enjoy every moment of life,

• Acquiring different areas of expertise and gaining new job fields and areas of interest,

• Instead of constantly traveling and guiding the same routes, learning different languages and having the opportunity to guide different tour groups in various regions both domestically and abroad, etc...

we invite you to become a part of our family.

We will be happy to graduate you, our esteemed students, and future cultural ambassadors as respected Tourist Guide Candidates from our school within the "TOURIST GUIDING PROGRAM" of the Yeşilova İsmail Akın Vocational School Travel, Tourism and Entertainment Services Department.
