After a moment of silence and the reading of the İstiklal Marşı, the program began with the reading of messages, followed by an opening speech by Young Red Crescent President Osman Nuri Utku, and then a speech on the meaning and importance of the day was made by our School's Deputy Director and also our school's History Science and Economy Community Academic Advisor Lecturer Uğur Tozkoparan. In his speech, Lecturer Uğur TOZKOPARAN emphasized that in order to fully understand the İstiklal Marşı, the conditions of the period in which it was written must be well known, and after providing information about the conditions of the period in which the İstiklal Marşı was written and Akif's activities during the National Struggle period, he concluded his speech with the words, "The line in our İstiklal Marşı, 'I will tear the mountains, I will not fit into the vastness, I will overflow,' always reminds me of our ancestors who even melted mountains in the Ergenekon legend. The National Struggle period is also a national epic like Ergenekon, and this epic is fully reflected to us with our İstiklal Marşı. On this occasion, I commemorate with mercy and gratitude our national poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy, the command echelon of the national struggle period, our unnamed heroes, and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our dear homeland."

Following the speeches, the program continued with a slide show depicting scenes from the life of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, poems from Safahat were recited, and an oratorio performance describing the birth of our İstiklal Marşı was presented. The ceremony ended with the awarding of prizes to the students who ranked in the composition competition.
