A Historical and Cultural Technical Trip was Conducted with Our Students to Nevşehir Kayseri Aksaray Konya Provinces

A technical trip was organized by our school's History Science Economy Community to the provinces of Nevşehir, Kayseri, Aksaray, and Konya on April 18-21, 2019, under the coordination of Lect. Uğur TOZKOPARAN and Lect. Ali ELİBOL. Students from the Tourism Guidance Program and Tourism and Hotel Management Department who are continuing their education at Yeşilova İsmail Akın Vocational School and students from the Accommodation Management Department who are continuing their education at the School of Tourism participated in the technical trip. During the technical trip, subjects related to the courses Turkey Geography, Turkey Tourism Geography, Anatolian History and Civilizations, Archaeology, Mythology, General Turkish History and Culture, which are taught in the relevant departments, were addressed in the field, providing students with the opportunity to gain field experience in the field of tourist guidance. The accommodation sponsorship of the technical trip, which was organized with two nights of accommodation, was undertaken by Gelişim Golf Company operating in Fethiye.
Within the scope of the technical trip, in Nevşehir Province, Uçhisar, Güvercinlik Valley, Uçhisar Castle, Göreme Open Air Museum, Güray Tile Mosaic Museum, Avanos, Swinging Bridge, and Ürgüp; in Aksaray Province, Kaymaklı Underground City, Ihlara Valley, Eğri Minaret Mosque, Karamanoğlu Mehmet Bey Mosque, Aksaray Museum; in Kayseri Province, Kültepe Ruins, Kayseri Viewing Hill, Gevher Nesibe Hospital; in Konya Province, Mevlana and Beyşehir Eşrefoğlu Mosque destinations were addressed in terms of tourism.
While the students participating in the technical trip had the opportunity to learn by experiencing how a trip is planned and implemented from start to finish, they also had the chance to see the theoretical course subjects they learned at school applied in the field.
On the return journey of the technical trip, the opinions of the students who wanted to speak about the technical trip were taken. The students generally stated that the trip was much better and more productive than they expected, that they did not have many opportunities to participate in such trips during high school, and that the subjects explained in the courses in terms of the guidance profession are not easily forgotten when seen firsthand thanks to technical trips.
