Yeşilova İsmail Akın Tourism Vocational School Culinary Program students continue to share the meals they prepare with martyr families at the iftar table.

Our University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar and our students have undertaken a meaningful event within the scope of the Ramadan month. Our Culinary Program students carried out a project aimed at increasing social awareness by sharing the meals they prepared with martyr families at the iftar table.

Our Yeşilova İsmail Akın Tourism Vocational School students, who conduct social responsibility projects in different fields every month, visit the home of a martyr family every week throughout Ramadan. In this context, our students visited Şerife Özkaya, the mother of Firdevsi ÖZKAYA, who was martyred in Bingöl in 1991, in Bedirli Village, connected to Yeşilova district. Along with our Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin DALGAR, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer TEKŞEN, Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Ali Murat ALPARSLAN, School Director Assoc. Dr. Mert GÜRLEK, project coordinator Lecturer Büşra ŞEN AVCU, and academicians also accompanied the students.

Before iftar, our delegation and students visited the grave of martyr Firdevsi ÖZKAYA and prayed there. Afterwards, our students shared the meals they prepared throughout the day at the martyr family's table at iftar time. Emotional moments were experienced during the event.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin DALGAR emphasized the importance of students participating in such events that benefit society for their spiritual development and used the following expressions: “Yeşilova İsmail Akın Tourism Vocational School is at the heart of practical education in the field of tourism. Our students undergo an educational process intertwined with the sector at Salda Lavanta Tepesi Hotel. At the same time, they contribute to social responsibility projects. I wholeheartedly congratulate all our students and academicians who have undertaken this meaningful event by preparing iftar meals for martyr families throughout Ramadan. As a university, we will continue to support every project that benefits society.”
