Our university's Yeşilova İsmail Akın Tourism Vocational School students cleaned mosques in the district before the month of Ramadan. In the social awareness event attended by 25 students and lecturers, mosques were cleaned. The students conducted a detailed cleaning inside and around the mosques, vacuumed the carpets, wiped the windows, and collected the trash in the garden. This meaningful event, which demonstrated exemplary solidarity and a sense of responsibility, both strengthened spiritual feelings and drew attention to environmental awareness.

School principal Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mert Gürlek said, “As Yeşilova İsmail Akın Tourism Vocational School, consistent with our university's policy of ‘From Universal Knowledge to Social Contribution,’ we are always intertwined with society as well as science. In this context, every month our students participate in social awareness projects in different environments. They bring joy and happiness to the places they visit as part of the projects. In this project, they decided to clean mosques before the holy month of Ramadan. They cleaned the designated mosques in Yeşilova district and Salda village before Ramadan. I thank our young friends who uphold our environmental, national, and religious values,” he said.

Kayadibi village headman Kahraman Kayan said, “We were very happy to see the students in our neighborhood mosque. We were moved to see them upholding our values. It is a nice feeling that the university finds us, comes to us, and values us. Seeing university friends working in such a village neighborhood gives us hope for the future,” he said.

One of the students, Fatma Telci, said, “As part of the project before Ramadan, we voluntarily clean the mosques in the district with friends, it is a very nice feeling. National and religious values bring us together, and today I saw that being together with both my fellow students and the aunts and uncles in the village gives us strength, it is a very nice event, I am very happy, I wish a blessed Ramadan to all of Turkey in advance,” she said.

Student Beytullah Bakuş, who participated in the event, said, “Today we are in a very beautiful place, we are cleaning the mosque with our friends. Being together and being beneficial to society is nice. Sometimes we need to remember what we have forgotten. Isn't that what Ramadan is about? Sharing love, happiness, friendship, life. This sharing makes us stronger, it is a very nice event, I wish a good Ramadan,” he expressed.

At the end of the event, gözleme was offered to the university students by the village women.
