Yeşilova İsmail Akın Tourism Vocational School students and teachers organized an environmental cleaning event to protect the unique natural beauties of Salda Lake. In this meaningful event, which draws attention to environmental awareness, the lake surroundings were cleared of waste.
With its turquoise color and natural beauty, Salda Lake, visited by thousands of tourists, found morale with a different event.

Salda Lake, described as Turkey's evil eye bead, attracting attention nationally and internationally with its turquoise color and unique natural beauty; entered the world geological heritage list; known for its resemblance to the red planet Mars, hosts thousands of tourists every year. Many tourists leave environmental pollution behind.
Yeşilova İsmail Akın Tourism Vocational School students and teachers organized an environmental cleaning event to draw attention to environmental pollution. Taking advantage of the end of the tourism season, students collected the waste left behind by visitors.
153 students, academic and administrative staff participating in the event collected dozens of bags of garbage and waste left by citizens on the shore of Doğan Baba beach with the vests and gloves distributed to them.
Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mert Gürlek said, “We are at a different event with our teachers and students. Salda Lake hosts thousands of visitors every season, but visitors leave their trash behind. We have initiated an environmental cleaning event with the slogan LOVE SALDA PROTECT NATURE to draw attention to environmental sustainability and environmental awareness. We are happy that our students take care of such a natural beauty that has gained worldwide fame. We invite all our stakeholders to protect Salda. As Yeşilova İsmail Akın Tourism Vocational School, we are happy to add value to our province not only with education but also with our social awareness activities.”
One of the students participating in the event, Pınar Karaduman, said, “Today, we collected the trash thrown by guests into Salda Lake with both our teachers and student friends. I am very happy to be part of such an event. Contributing to Salda Lake, which has become a world-renowned site, excited us. Especially, all people need to be more sensitive about the environment, we need to increase our nature awareness, love and protect nature.”
