Head of the Department of Travel, Tourism and Entertainment Services Dr. Lecturer Özcan ÖZDEMİR participated as a moderator in the City Gastronomy session at the "Gaziantep Tourism Workshop from the Perspective of Tourist Guides".

Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Özcan ÖZDEMİR participated as a moderator in the City Gastronomy session at the "Tourist Guides' Perspective on Gaziantep Tourism Workshop" held between February 26-28, 2024. At the workshop, topics such as "Tourism Spaces with a Focus on Museums, City Gastronomy, New Generation Tourism Practices, City Branding, and the City's Memory Spaces" were discussed. The workshop included Guide-Academicians, Professional Tourist Guides, Presidents and Members of Turkey Tourist Guides Chambers, Representatives of the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, employees of the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Tourism Branch Directorate, and representatives from other institutions and organizations.

In Turkey, for the first time, the workshop topics addressed solely from the "Tourist Guides' Perspective" saw Guide-Academicians taking on the roles of moderators and rapporteurs in the workshop sessions, touching upon the views and suggestions of expert participants in each session. Participants who made innovations and suggestions for Gaziantep tourism were presented with participation certificates following field trips and workshop sessions, concluding the sessions successfully and efficiently.
